PhD or Masters student - APPLY THROUGH OUR DEPARTMENT HERE

The Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology offers an exciting, very collaborative environment that is ideal for your post-graduate training. Candidate students interested in joining the lab can apply directly via our website. You can also email me at adama1@amc.edu or contact us through this site. Mention in the application your interest in the laboratory of Alejandro Adam.

Postdoctoral fellow - EMAIL ME: adama1@amc.edu

A postdoctoral position is available within the Adam lab in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, to work on our NIH/NIGMS-funded research focused on the endothelial transcriptional and post-transcriptional changes that regulate vascular leakage and pathogenic angiogenesis in severe inflammation, using a combination of in vitro assays, mouse models, and human tissues. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate in many other current projects, including rosacea, uveitis and related chorioretinal diseases, and pre-eclampsia and to join the postdoc development program offered by Albany Med.

The candidate must have a strong interest in endothelial cell biology and inflammation. They must be highly motivated to learn state-of-the-art techniques, develop animal models, be hardworking, be motivated to write manuscripts and grant applications and maintain intramural and extramural collaborations. The ideal candidate will have experience in transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene regulation (Single-cell RNA-Seq, Ribotag), plasmid/virus generation and molecular biology, mouse surgery and treatments, and advanced microscopy techniques (TIRF, STED, computer-assisted image analysis). Candidates must be receiving a PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree prior to starting the postdoc (or have recently earned such a degree) and be fluent in English.

Albany Medical College is an equal opportunity employer. Minorities are encouraged to apply. We offer a competitive salary, excellent work environment and multiple opportunities to grow as a scientist.
